TONY KART RACING TEAM
WSK SERIES 2008
4° round – Mariembourg track (B)
4th/6th June
The conclusive phase of the WSK International Series, ending with the Spanish final in Zuera, will start in Mariembourg on next Sunday.
KF1, KZ2 and KF2 will be on the track in this fourth round of the WSK and the Tony Kart Racing Team will be present in all these categories trying to reach good results, always considering the championship, where we are fighting for the victory, in all categories.
Another great week-end is around the corner, we expect it to be really exciting and full of suspense.
This race on Sunday will be also a testing bench for the second event of the European Championship, both for KF1 and KZ, these categories will be on the track for the second round of the European Championship, where our driver Gary Catt is leading the ratings.
We hope that the bad weather will not spoil this eagerly awaited week-end.
Our team is leading two of the drivers ratings which will be present on Sunday, Will Stevens is leader in KF1 and Marco Ardigò in KZ2.
Smarrazzo is leader in KF2 and we know really well the kart he drives, a FA Kart with Vortex engine, and the most competitive rivals for the Italian driver will be our Oliver Rowland (2nd) and Petri Suvanto (3rd), they both gained a double win in Lonato, at the WSK.
After the unlucky races in Angerville and in Lonato it will be a hard fight for Will in KF1 since many rivals are getting closed to our English driver. Among the many rivals there will be also his team-mates Gary Catt and Mathias Laine.
Another stimulus for us is the Euro Cup, the team rating, where at the moment we are trying to reach the first position.
In the shift category we are leader in both ratings, drivers and team. Marco is leading the rating after the double win in Angerville and the Tony Kart-Vortex is on top of the team rating.
Last week was good for us, Ardigò won the French Championship in Varennes. In a rainy week-end our team worked hard with its four drivers (Ardigò, Benedetti, Gaggianesi and Laine), gaining two victories in both finals and proving, again, how good the technical material is also with changeable asphalt conditions.
COMMENTS POST-RACE
Aliprandi Giacomo – Team Manager Tony Kart Racing Team
“Marco’s victory, on Sunday in Varennes, was clear but unfortunately the bad weather didn’t allow us to test the material with the dry track.
In September the KZ World Cup will probably take place on the dry track and this event was an important test for the technical material. The weather conditions didn’t help us, however our technical development never ends.
The weather forecast are not good on next Sunday in Mariembourg too. I hope to race on dry asphalt and that the rain will not spoil the race, falsifying the drivers’ performances, as already happened this year.
Our material is always perfect and can adapt to every kind of asphalt and weather condition, of course we would like to test the material on the dry track before competing in the European Championship.”
