TONY KART RACING TEAM WON THE RACE AND THE WSK TITLE IN KZ2
With a fantastic performance in KZ2 final, our Team, with Marco Ardigò, won the WSK International Series Championship. The Team worked hard during all the week-end in order to allow his driver to do his best in occasion of the final on Sunday. Ardigò had at his disposal a perfect kart and showed his ability, doing an exciting super final, full of Pathos. Our driver fought first against Thonon and then against Manetti, thanks to his excellent race the Tony Kart Team gained the third win in this season, out of three races, at the WSK Series and a really deserved title.
In the heats Marco was really aggressive and was trying to find the best set-up for the two finals and he raced in a clever and tactical way gaining two second positions and a fifth position.
Ardigò continued his progression in the pre-final: he started from the second line, our driver fought in the first positions and arrived second, just after Manetti (Crg-Maxter-Vega).
The final was for sure the most exciting race of the day and one of the greatest race of all the WSK Series.
Marco, reached Manetti already in the first lap, as soon as he had the occasion overtook the rival.
Ardigò was leading the group, driving extremely fast, in record time.
The chassis, perfectly balanced, and the engine, which allowed our drivers to do his best, forced the rivals, in primis Thonon and Manetti, to go fast for all the race.
At the end of the race, even if Manetti pressure was high, Ardigò at the 13th lap with his usual sangfroid
At the 13th lap the race reached its climax, thanks to Ardigò, who thanks to his usual sangfroid, won the fight with his rival.
Marco won both race and title and the Tony Kart Racing Team, thanks to the important Andrea Benedetti’s points, is leading the Euro Cup, with 130 points.
The situation is different in KF2. In this category our Junior Team driver Flavio Camponeschi stepped on to the podium, gaining a second position, and now he can fight for the championship again.
In this fight are involved also two other drivers of ours: Petri Suvanto and Oliver Rowland. The super Final in Zuera, planned from the 2nd to the 5th of October is going to be exciting.
Nine drivers will fight for the title in only one race!
Five of these drivers will compete with our tecnical material and with Vortex engine.

“Even if we had a big gap in the championship rating we arrived in Sarno with the aim to do a great performance. In the last weeks we worked hard in order to develop the technical material and during the week end we used these new solutions that made us win.”

“In the final I adopted an aggressive strategy in order to put under pressure my rivals. I immediately became the leader of the race, in this way I forced the other drivers to go faster in order to catch me.
My kart was great, it was the result of the fantastic work I made with the Team. We developed new technical solutions, these are my new weapons but I want to keep them secret.
Of course I’m very happy; in fact I wanted to win the Championship, and I did it! This success is really great because it is a reward for the Team work.”

“It is a great satisfaction for me and for all teh team. There are many people working hard for these successes, so it is correct to share these wins with all the team.
Our greatest aim was to be first on the track and we did well.
After the disqualification in Mariembourg, we took our revenge on the track this time. The rivals were really competitive in this event in Sarno, I try to do my best and I did well in the first 5 laps and I immediately was leading the group, the other drivers did a great effort to stay behind me.”
Which was the crucial moment in the final? It was really an exciting race.
“I saw that Manetti had some problems in the first laps, so I understood that I had to take advantage from that situation and I decided to risk accelerating on the straight. All the material was perfect, the chassis had a fantastic set up, I didn’t have to take care about nothing because everything was excellent, I only thought to drive.
The rivals had to go faster in comparison to what they usually do, and I think that this fact caused them some problems because they were used to different rhythms and tactics.”
During the press conference you said that the Racing Team has found some solutions which helped you to win.
In about a month there will be the World Cup. This win is a positive result in sight of the most important event of the KZ1 season.
“KZ2 is not an easy category, the drivers have to fight and we have always worked hard, until the final.
In about a month there will be the World Cup, of course the track will be different and also the tyres won’t be the same, we are working hard and we proved that we could win.”

“I had some technical problems and I hadn’t enough time to recover. However I had a good speed that’s why I’m not really satisfied with the result of this week-end, I could have done better. The technical material was perfect, so I hope to take my revenge in the next race of the European Championship.”

“It was an unlucky week-end, the technical material was perfect and I hope to do a good performance in the next race of the European Championship. Next week I’ll go to do some tests in Portugal.”

“It is a great result this second position, it was difficult to do better, Thorp was really competitive, but I’m happy all the same. Unfortunately I didn’t compete in a WSK race otherwise I could have a good position in the general rating, with this win I recovered some positions, but with only 4 races instead of 5 it is really difficult.
