EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE AND A BIT OF BAD LUCK IN THE ROUND 2 OF THE WSK MASTER SERIES
The drivers of our Tony Kart Racing Team remain at the top for the whole weekend at Lonato and prove to be higly competitive despite a bit of bad luck prevent them to sweep the board
In the first round of the WSK Super Master Series for KZ2 category, our drivers Matteo Viganò and Alessio Piccini had good performances, with Viganò, in particular, able to qualify with the fourth time and win two second places in the Heats (together with a best lap).
Both drivers reach the final, finishing fifth (Viganò) and fourteenth (Piccini) in prefinal A.
In the decisive race Matteo Viganò confirms the good performance of the whole weekend ending sixth, after also being very close to the fight for the podium. A bit more difficult, however, for Alessio Piccini, who ended thirty-first at the finishing line.
In OK, the weekend starts well with Noah Milell and Joseph Turney being able to center the top10 in the qualifying heat.
The work done in the test sessions gives good results in the eliminatory heats, where Sami Meguetounif and Matheus Morgatto show the right pace to constantly stay in the first ten. More important performances for Noah Milell and Joseph Turney: the first centers two second and two fourth places together with a best lap, while the second one wins a round with a fourth and a fifth place.
Pre-finals have some good and some a bit unluckier results. A contact with13 laps to go force Turney to withdraw after starting from the fourth position. Same situation for Matheus Morgatto in the other pre-final, while Noah Milell and Sami Meguetounif keep the colors of Tony Kart Racing Team high with a second and a fourth place.
They actually prove to be very fast also in Final with our Tony Kart Racer 401 R chassis powered by Vortex, but some unlucky events affect the result. Sami Meguetounif finishes in tenth position after being forced off the track when he was in third position. Noah Milell, author of an excellent start, takes the lead after only two laps. The Swede is the protagonist of an intense fight for the victory but a contact on the main straight stretch deprives him of the podium and ends in sixth position.
OKJ category is full of satisfactions for the Tony Kart Racing Team. The place in qualifying of Nikita Bedrin is the prelude to a long series of successes in the heats for the Russian: he brakes the tape first 5 times and for three times the victory is followed by a best lap. Josep Martí is also among the best on the grid with a victory, a third and three fourth places.
The excellent results allow Bedrin and Martì to win the first and third place at the end of the eliminatory heats.
Another great success for Nikita Bedrin arrives in pre-final, where he took the lead from the start, while Martì stands out in the middle of the group conquering a fifth place.
Unfortunately, the bad luck does not allow our drivers to gain the result they deserve in the Final: after a complicated start leading him from second to fifth, Nikita Bedrin settles on his pace and quickly starts to recover positions, taking the lead at 10 laps from the end; on the second-last lap, however, a contact with an opponent pushes the Russian driver off the track, depriving him of an important result.
Difficult race also for Martì, who withdraws with 3 laps to go.
In 60 Mini category, our young drivers continue with the right pace. The new Tony Kart EV chassis shows its great qualities both in the batteries, with several top-ten placings for Jules Caranta, Cui Yanpu and Louis James Egozi, and above all, with the third place of Andrea Filaferro in Final. Here, also Francesco Marenghi closes in top10.
The next racemeeting for the drivers of our Racing Team will be at La Conca International Circuit in Muro Leccese, for the third round of the WSK Super Master Series where the 60 Mini, OKJ and OK classes will get back to the track.
