Tony Kart: the European Championship for KZ-KZ2 classes at the starting grid in Valencia

Our Racing Team faces the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship for the shifter categories, showing off in Spain.

The FIA Karting European Championship reserved to KZ and KZ2 classes officially starts in Spain. Our Tony Kart Racing Team is at the start of the first round in Valencia, hosted at the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero, with the new Tony Kart Racer 401 T chassis, equipped with the VTZ Vortex engine, the ‘engine division’ of OTK Kart Group.

In KZ, our official drivers Lorenzo Camplese, Francesco Celenta, Marijn Kremers and Tom Leuillet face the Valencia track, a real novelty for most of the drivers since it has never been included before in the FIA Karting calendar reserved for the shifter categories.

Leuillet and Camplese are the main protagonists in the standings: the French driver hits the third place in the Sunday morning's super heat, thanks to a remarkable comeback of not less than 13 positions, also signing the fastest lap of the session. On the other hand, the Italian driver - on the European podium at last year's Val Vibrata competition – is able to obtain constant results throughout the weekend. Both our drivers are in contention for a top-10 final finish. Less lucky, however, is Celenta and Kremers’ weekend.

In KZ2, Nicola Rossini is our only driver at the starting grid of the category, which sees a total of 62 participants. The Italian driver is also at his first time at the Spanish circuit but constantly improves his performance with each session. He finally attends the final race of the Spanish weekend, running a clever and error-free race.

Our Tony Kart Racing Team will be back in Italy in two-week-time (May 28th – 31st), on the occasion of the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, reserved to OK and OKJ classes, in Viterbo.
