Tony Kart running for victory at the European Champ for OK-OKJ in Viterbo

On the occasion of the third round of the championship our Racer 401 T jumps from the front row in the OKJ final with Ilie Tristan Crisan. The Racing Team driver remains in contention for the top positions in the opening laps, before being forced to stop.

After the Champions of the Future Euro Series of the previous week, the Tony Kart Racing Team is back again at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo for the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ. Once again, the leader on track is our Tony Kart Racer 401 T, equipped as usual with the VTS (OK) and VTJ (OKJ) engines by Vortex Engines, the engine division of OTK Kart Group.

In OKJ, Ilie Tristan Crisan steadily runs at the top of the category throughout the event. Already in Friday's qualifying heats, in fact, the Canadian driver is able to set the best time in his group, which earns him a second place in the combined classification. In the following qualifying heats, he then achieves two victories and two top-3 finishes. Crisan is a fighter in the Super Heat B, always leading the race and also setting the fastest lap, thus being one of the favourites for the final victory, finally securing the second place on the starting grid for the last race of the weekend. At the start, our driver immediately chases the poleman and remains behind him during the first three laps; however, in an attempt to overtake him, the two drivers come into collision with Crisan forced to retire.

Oliveri Sini also shows off in Viterbo. The Indonesian driver, in his first full season among the “Juniors”, starts the weekend with the fourth place in Group 2 of the qualifying heats, after which he further improves his performance in the qualifying heats, even gaining a win. After finishing the Super Heat B in fourth place, Sini jumps from the fifth row in the final, but an accident wipes out his chances of achieving a significant result. Instead, the apprenticeship for the other Racing Team rookies, Julian Frasnelli, Henri-Constant Kumpen and Mateo Rivals, continues.

In OK class, Friday begins with Jindřich Pešl setting the fifth fastest time in the first series of free practices, but unable to convert this result into qualifying. Thomas Pradier too, despite some positive results such as the second-best time set in Saturday morning's warm-up, finds some obstacles in his path. Nevertheless, our two drivers reach Sunday's final without any problems. Gino Rocchio and Oliver Rasmussen continue their development work with our sports division, in view of the upcoming events.

After the double race in Viterbo, the Tony Kart Racing Team is taking a short break, before getting back on track in Cremona for the second round of the WSK Euro Series (2-5 July).
